This fella came as part of a three pack, the ‘Artist’s Series’ that also came with a Rockin’ Jellybean and Bounty X Hunter Devilman. He’s also the first one that I’ve gotten that can stand on it’s own. Nice little holiday surprise.
Just got this gentleman in the mail the other day. Lately I’ve been just terrible at taking pictures, so you can’t really get the full effect of the marble color combo, but I really dig it.
oh ryse frahm de blaastbeet trahjedee aht seeeeea ze ghreyt skullORM!
Released 30th November.
Secret Base, Japan.
Dark blue & light violet.
Another NYCC is in the books.
It was another crazy round trip that left me happily exhausted, bookending my convention experience with no sleep and two of the busiest shifts I’ve ever had at work. But when I finally met up with Phil, Pat, Tony, Michael, Ed and the rest of the Standup Guys it was totally worth it. One of the fun things about any sort of collecting subculture is the people who share your passion and I’m pretty lucky to be surrounded by the nerds that I am. I was even able to bring Julia with me to share the day with me, get her first vinyl toy and introduce her to some of the best folks I know.
It was great catching up with Chris and Pus, meeting our overseas buddies, meeting Paulie from Septic Death (who I’ve been at APP with multiple times it seems, but never knew he was he!) and reveling in a few hours of geekiness. I picked up a few new toys, took pictures of a few others (Devilman Finkshit?) and still marveled at how much people seem to like the NAG.
I haven’t had a chance to take pictures of any of the toys I bought, but here are a few fun ones from the show. Glitter Nagball (didn’t buy) and SkullOrm (did buy). Pus, Julia and I. Mecha-ju thingie (didn’t buy)
I’ll update soon with the haul.
Thanks again Pus, Chris, and the Standup Guys for a hell of a year!
The yellow Damaged XXX Shifter arrived recently to keep the blue SDCC one company.
When I was young, I’d always buy Metallica 45s for the Pushead cover art; never owned a record player and didn’t really listen to the band but I’d always keep my eyes out for a new single.
That’s still the case. Not really a fan of the music, but damned glad that they keep making fun Pushead stuff.
I admit I’ve been pretty terrible with keeping blogs updated.
Occult Vibrations, Sacred Debris, Scarwars, Modblog, My Pushead Addiction as well as clandestinely making print/cut/paste ‘zines and you have a backlog that’s bigger than my free time allows me to work on. But I’ve stolen a few minutes to put up a photo of my haul from SDCC2013.
This was my first San Diego Comic Con Pus event and man.. I see what all the hype was about!
I got to be in line with some really rad standup guys, talk toys and life and be there for the reveal of the new Pushead sculpt- the Skull Hevi!
I’ll try to get the whole kit and kaboodle up at some point, but…
Nag ball, Damaged XXX shifter and GID Cococroc to hold you over!
Nag Ball has a… secret. I found it the first night it was in my display case.
Blue Damaged XXX was available only to Pushead collectors at SDCC.
CocoCroc GID was super limited as well!
I’m heading out to San Diego Friday morning for this year’s San Diego Comic Con!
I’m only going to be attending on Sunday for the Pus event but I’ll be in town if anyone wants to meet up, talk toys, tattoos, whatever!
My email address is shawn.porter23 at gmail dot com- all emails will go straight to my phone. I didn’t make a lot of plans for the weekend, so let’s have some adventures!
Saturday I’m thinking about hitting up the Honkykong show… otherwise totally up for fun.
